This page states only what the sources checked for it support. The following details are still open:
- Reproduce on v1.0.0, inventory actual in-game graphics settings, and confirm any current known patch or developer response.

Reversible test sequence
- Restart Windows and close unused apps; use Task Manager to watch CPU, memory, disk, and GPU load.
- Verify game files in Steam.
- Update Windows and install a driver from the GPU vendor's official support channel.
- On a dual-GPU laptop, set the game to the high-performance GPU in Windows Graphics settings.
- Test fullscreen, borderless, and windowed modes one at a time. Windows 11 provides an “Optimizations for windowed games” toggle that can be tested per app.
- Temporarily disable overlays and recording tools to isolate interference.
- Lower the largest available graphics or resolution option one step, retest the same scene, and record before/after FPS.
- Note whether the slowdown is global or begins only after sleep, a moon screen, crop updating, fog, or a particular map transition.
An older itch.io comment reported 4–7 FPS after a moon cutscene, but it was a demo build and is not proof of a current 1.0 regression. The official September 8 demo changelog includes several visual/transition fixes; it should not be presented as a current full-release fix list.
Not confirmed yet: This page has not reproduced the problem on v1.0.0, listed the game's actual graphics options, or confirmed a current patch or developer response. The generic checklist is safe, and this page does not publish a game-specific “best settings” preset because none is evidenced yet.
See midnight crash when the slowdown is tied to the night transition.
